Experienced Automotive Technician — Diagnostic / A/C Specialist
ICE COLD AIR DISCOUNT AUTO REPAIR — Clearwater, FL

We are looking for an experienced B+ / A-Level Automotive Technician to join our team.
We are an established repair shop specializing in complete automotive repair, diagnostics
and A/C service. We are looking for a technician who can diagnose problems, work
independently, and produce quality work efficiently.

PAY: $45–$60+ PER FLAGGED HOUR Flat Rate — Performance Based

● Proven productivity and skill can move you to $50, $55 and ultimately $60+ per
flagged hour
● Compensation increases based on demonstrated ability, efficiency, diagnostic capability
and quality of work
● Minimum hourly guarantee during periods when the shop does not have sufficient
production
● The better you perform, the more you can earn
This is a true flat-rate position. We are looking for technicians who want their earning
potential tied to their productivity.

THE TECHNICIAN WE WANT

We are looking for someone who can take a vehicle, diagnose the problem, determine the
correct repair and complete the job with minimal supervision.

You should be particularly strong in:
● Electrical diagnostics
● Check-engine-light diagnosis
● Drivability and engine-performance diagnosis
● Scan-tool diagnostics and live data
● Wiring diagrams and electrical testing
● Multimeter and diagnostic equipment use
● Automotive A/C diagnosis and repair
● A/C electrical and control-system diagnosis
● Engine mechanical diagnosis and repair
● Cooling systems
● Starting and charging systems
● Brakes
● Steering and suspension
● General repair on domestic and import vehicles

WHAT WE EXPECT

You should:
● Diagnose problems rather than simply replace parts
● Be able to work independently
● Follow a logical diagnostic process
● Verify failures before recommending repairs
● Work efficiently without sacrificing quality
● Perform repairs correctly the first time
● Be comfortable diagnosing difficult electrical problems
● Be comfortable with modern scan tools and diagnostic equipment
● Communicate clearly with the service advisor
● Complete thorough inspections
● Keep your workspace organized
● Take pride in the quality of your work
● Be comfortable working in a flat-rate environment
A/C EXPERIENCE IS A MAJOR PLUS
A/C is an important part of our business.
We are particularly interested in technicians who can properly diagnose and repair automotive
A/C systems, including:
● Refrigerant-system diagnosis
● Leak diagnosis
● Compressor and clutch systems
● Evaporator and condenser problems
● HVAC controls
● Electrical faults
● Pressure and temperature diagnosis
● Variable-displacement compressor systems
● Modern electronically controlled A/C systems
We are looking for someone who can diagnose an A/C problem — not simply evacuate
and recharge the system.

REQUIREMENTS

● 5+ years professional automotive repair experience preferred
● Strong diagnostic ability
● Strong electrical diagnostic skills
● Strong A/C experience preferred
● Experience with professional scan tools
● Own quality hand tools
● Valid driver’s license
● Reliable transportation
● Ability to work efficiently in a flat-rate environment
● ASE certifications are a plus
● EPA 609 certification is a plus

WHO WILL DO WELL HERE
This position is a good fit for a technician who thinks:
“Give me the car and the problem. I’ll figure it out.”
If you’re the technician other technicians come to when they can’t figure something out, we want
to meet you.

If you are productive, consistently produce quality repairs and demonstrate strong diagnostic
ability, there is a clear path from $45 to $60+ per flagged hour.

U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Information (Completion is voluntary)

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

You are being given the opportunity to provide the following information in order to help us comply with federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action record keeping, reporting, and other legal requirements.

Completion of the form is entirely voluntary. Whatever your decision, it will not be considered in the hiring process or thereafter. Any information that you do provide will be recorded and maintained in a confidential file.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 4/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection.
